Embracing the idea that Doctor means “teacher”, one of the most important aspects of our work is to help patients help themselves through education. Along with tailored treatment plans based on functional needs and goals, we also provide recommendations for therapeutic exercise and nutrition. We focus on encouraging our patients to commit to preventative and maintenance care, ultimately with the goal of reducing stress and improving overall health balance.
As doctors/teachers we also know how important it is to listen to and learn from their patients as well as to continue our own education and curiosity. We share the love of our patients and of our work and feel honored and privileged to be able to share this knowledge, love and healing.
At Balance, we are a patient-centered practice and you will get hands-on spinal care through soft-tissue treatment (myofascial release, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization), spinal and extremity joint mobilization/manipulation, focused exercise prescription and basic nutritional advice.
I came to Vermont by way of NYC where I worked at Manhattan Sports Medicine, a spinal rehab clinic affiliated with the Hospital for Special Surgery. In a multidisciplinary setting, I learned complex case management of pre- and post-surgical patients, working alongside other skilled medical professionals. I also learned the value of balance in my own life.
Here in Vermont, I worked with Dr. David Pierson, a leader in the community and of our profession. His vast experience sharpened my clinical skills and broadened my abilities in sports injury management. He asked me to carry the torch of his practice in 2015.
The chiropractic profession chose me after an injury left me nearly immobile. My father literally carried me into the chiropractic office, and I walked out. This event had a profound impact on my life, and gave me a desire to give back to those who could benefit from non-surgical spinal care. I attended New York Chiropractic College and performed my clinical rotations in Levittown and Stony Brook, NY before earning my Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2011. Continuing education is important, so I pursued additional training in sports medicine, earning the title of Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) in 2016.
As a doctor, listening to my patients is paramount. I strive for excellence in care by patient education and evidence-based practices. I am excited to co-manage with other types spinal specialists, orthopaedists and physical therapists.
Outside of the office I enjoy sharing an active lifestyle with my love, Claire.

I’ve been working in customer service for over 8 years and I’ve always enjoyed helping people, solving problems and making a positive impact on others. I love all the unique personalities of the patients that come in to Balance Chiropractic and Active Therapy. I enjoy managing the office and working with Dr. Miles. Outside of the office, art is my passion and I spend the majority of my free time painting and making things with all sorts of materials. In the summer, I love kayaking, hiking and playing softball.
